<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: a flange portion structure of a conventional exterior lamp is liable to leave water droplets W and muds in a groove of the flange portion by car washing and the like and in order to hide them, a method of applying an opaque coating on a knurling surface is carried out, but the method takes much working time and cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The structure of the exterior lamp is configured by providing a knurling 6 on the groove surface of the flange potion 4 side of the groove 5 formed between the flange portion 4 of a lamp lens 1 and a housing 2 in the exterior lamp, and providing a plurality of recesses 9 in the longitudinal direction of convex parts 7 of the knurling. The recesses 9 are preferably arranged such that recesses 9 of adjoining knurling convex parts 7 are not positioned at the same position in the longitudinal direction of the knurling convex parts 7.
