<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece machining method and device capable of smoothly machining a profile part and a detailed part of a workpiece in a one-time chucking in stages without clamp-changing to enhance production efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The device is for manufacturing a camshaft 10 having a recess 15 in an outer peripheral face of a cam lobe 13. The workpiece W is pushed into a broaching tool 20 having a cutting edge part 21 of a shape corresponding to an outside profile 14 of the cam lobe 13 including the recess 15 to be formed by broaching.
