PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment which reduces power consumption required for a broadcast content reproduction device for reproducing broadcast contents represented by broadcasting waves.

SOLUTION: The communication equipment comprises: a tuner section 2 for receiving broadcasting waves; a flag monitoring section 3 for detecting a flag included in the broadcasting waves and instructing reception of emergency broadcasting waves; and a transmission means activating signal sending section 4 for sending to a broadcast content reproduction device an instruction signal instructing the reception of emergency broadcasting waves when the flag is detected in the flag monitoring section 3.
