<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a character string from being inclined by optical illusion. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU decides whether a stepped character string detected from a character string drawn in a page memory is composed of three or more characters (S81). When the CPU detects three characters, the CPU specifies a direction that the character string changes in stepwise fashion (S83).
