PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technique suitable for predicting the life of a shield cable having a braided shield layer. SOLUTION: A method for computationally predicting a shield line behavior associated with bending of a shield cable including a braided shield layer constituted so that a plurality of shield lines are intersected and an insulating sheath covering the braided shield layer comprises a friction quantity calculation step of calculating a first friction quantity showing a sliding quantity between the shield lines and/or a second friction quantity showing a sliding quantity between the shield lines and the insulating sheath by a computer based on the braided structure of the shield lines in bending of the shield cable.
