摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and effectively suppress reverse transition of liquid crystal molecules from bend alignment to splay alignment in an OCB mode liquid crystal device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device (100) includes: a pair of substrates (10, 20) having a liquid crystal layer (50) disposed therebetween, the liquid crystal layer containing therein liquid crystal molecules of which the alignment state during no-voltage application corresponds to a splay alignment state; and a conductive alignment keeping member (210) which is at least partially disposed in a frame region (53a) defining the perimeter of a pixel region (10a) on one substrate of the pair of substrates and held at a potential for placing the liquid crystal layer in the frame region in a bend alignment state.
