The invention relates to a roller blind system for a vehicle, comprising a roller blind (36) that is stretched counter to a restoring force F_s of a wind-up drum (13a), and at least one tension hoop (31) which encompasses a handle (37) for actuating the roller blind (36) and at least one slider (35) on each side. Said slider (35) is provided with at least one decelerating area (15) while being mounted so as to be movable within a guide rail (22) that runs parallel to the closing direction of the roller blind (36). The slider (35) is designed such that the decelerating area (15) is displaced towards the guide rail (22) by means of the restoring force of the wind-up drum (13a) when the handle (37) is released, resulting in the decelerating area (15) creating a decelerating effect along with at least one opposite area of the guide rail.
