<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner solving problems of a conventional air cleaner wherein, though the level of contamination can be displayed, details of contamination in a room cannot be informed to a user until the contamination reaches the next shifting contamination level, and to allow visual confirmation of the amount and transition of contamination by displaying the amount of contamination during shift of the contamination level. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The air cleaner is provided with a dust sensor 6 detecting contamination in air, and a microcomputer 8 as a control means for allowing the user to confirm the amount and transition of contamination by displaying the amount of contamination detected by the dust sensor 6.
