<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that a strong rotary torque is needed for raking up dust on a carpet, a motor and a rotary brush also have increased size and weight, and operability is deteriorated in a suction tool for a cleaner. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The suction tool for the cleaner includes first and second clutch mechanisms 22k and 21k for inputting output from first and second motors 22 and 21 equipped inside the cylindrical body 19 of the rotary brush 23, and a rotation transmission mechanism for transmitting rotation only in one rotating direction set by the engagement or friction of teeth, the output ends of the first and second clutch mechanisms 22k and 21k are connected to the cylindrical body 19 of the rotary brush 23, and when the rotation of the output end of one of the clutch mechanisms precedes the rotation on the input side of the other clutch, the rotation transmission mechanism of the latter clutch mechanism is canceled. The small-sized, light-weight and inexpensive suction tool for the cleaner, which demonstrates strong torque even with a relatively small-sized motor, is excellent in handleability and has a substantially improved performance of removing dust on a surface to be cleaned, is obtained.
