The method involves executing a roadway forecast in a forecasting module, where the forecast describes a possible route based on a current position of a motor vehicle (1) e.g. police vehicle. The forecast is inspected whether a predicted roadway contains a roadway section along a street with an urgent travel direction specification in an unauthorized travel direction. A warning message is outputted to warn a driver in the unauthorized travel direction before predicted traveling on the street with the specification. An alarm indication device e.g. siren, is activated, to warn a road user.
