The vehicle (1) has a windscreen (2), and a window hoop (3) extending beneath the windscreen. A crossbeam (4) sectionally extends over vehicle width, and is connected with the window hoop by a plate-shaped carrier element (5). A projection device (6) of a head-up-display (HUD) is provided in an intermediate space between the crossbeam and the window hoop. The window hoop consists of recesses such that the projection device is fixable from an engine compartment of the vehicle to the window hoop. The carrier element has a section for fixing retaining plates. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembly of a motor vehicle.
