<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a gene with low background noise by preventing bonding of a labeling agent to a probe and magnetic fine particles. <P>SOLUTION: The method for detecting a gene includes a step of preparing a gene sample by denaturing the gene in a test specimen to be a single strand, a step of adding a halogen compound to add the halogen compound to a base of the gene sample, a step of adding an electrochemically active material to bind the electrochemically active material with the halogenated gene sample through a nucleophilic substitution reaction, a step of deactivating the unreacted halogenated compound, a step of preparing a single stranded captured probe complementary to the gene sequence to be detected and immobilizing the captured probe to magnetic fine particles, a step of hybridizing the electrochemically active material-bonded gene sample with the captured probe immobilized to the magnetic fine particles, and a step of detecting the electrochemically active material bonded to the gene sample captured with the magnetic fine particles by electrochemical measurement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
