<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device which determines by cost whether to carry out charging of a battery using an engine or home power supply in a plug-in hybrid vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The hybrid vehicle carries a gasoline engine and a battery driven electric motor as a power unit. In the hybrid vehicle whose battery can be charged from home power supply, the control device of the hybrid vehicle computes the cost in carrying out full charging of a battery by driving a generator with an engine, and the cost in carrying out full charging of the battery by home power supply based on a unit price of gasoline at present when carrying out charging of the battery, compares both of the cases, determines to charge the battery with the cheaper case of the cost, and can notify this to an occupant of the vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
