PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular steering unit which changes a rotation transmission ratio and adds reaction force or steering assistance force through the action of a single motor, while it is also attainable of miniaturization and simplification of constitution including a control means. SOLUTION: With regard to the vehicular steering unit in which a transmission ratio variable mechanism 4 is interposed between an input shaft 3a that rotates in response to the operation of a steering member and an output shaft 3b that revolves in linkage with the movement of a steering mechanism, the size of the reaction force and the direction thereof for a first clutch 6 that transmits the rotation of a motor 5 to the input shaft 3a, a second clutch 7 that transmits the rotation of a motor 3 to the transmission ratio variable mechanism 4, and the input shaft 3a, are so constituted as to be changed through the output control of the motor 5 conducted by the action command from a steering control section 8, and through engaging/disengaging control of the clutch 6, while the rotation transmission ratio of the transmission ratio variable mechanism 4 is configured to be changed by the control of the strength in the engagement of the second clutch 7 due to an action command from the steering control section 8.
