<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint for connecting different type pipes capable of compatibly maintaining a sealing function and a relative rotation function by torque management, and achieving the inhibition of seal pressure fluctuation caused by an influence of an axial external force and the construction of an earthquake-resistant conduit while maintaining a small number of components, a simple structure, and low cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The joint for connecting different type pipes J is provided with: a polyethylene adapter 5 including a cylindrical outer circumference surface 51 at one side and including a flange 52 at another side; a metal joint body member 6 including an external screw spigot 61 at one side, and a first contact surface 62 a parallel screw 63 on an opposite side; a box nut 7 screwed with the parallel screw 63 and including a second contact surface 72 on an end surface; an O-ring 8 installed in an O-ring groove 64 formed on the first contact surface 62 of the metal joint body member 6. The box nut 7 does not leak fluid against inner water pressure at the parallel screw 63 of the metal joint body member 6 and is screwed at fastening torque in a predetermined torque range in which the polyethylene adapter 5 and the metal joint body member 6 can be relatively rotated by man power.
