<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a magnetic encoder for stably securing high detection precision. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The magnetic encoder 26 includes a plastic magnet containing magnetic substance powder and a resin composition, and has a magnetic pole formation ring 27 magnetized in a multi-pole in a circumferential direction by being formed in the form of a circular ring. The method of manufacturing the magnetic encoder 26 includes: a process for carrying out magnetic field injection molding of the magnetic pole formation ring 27; and a process for applying mechanical processing on a magnetic detection face 27a of the molded magnetic pole formation ring 27.
