<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure smooth turning of a turning body more easily in a mechanism for turning the turning body without being based on one fixed shaft. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This operating mechanism is provided for turning the turning body 2 combined with a support body 1 turnably with a supported part 20 and turning toward a deployed position by the energization of a torsion coil spring 3. The supported part 20 of the turning body 2 has a large diameter gear part 20a formed along the circular arc of an imaginary circle, and a small diameter gear part 20b provided with the center (r) of the imaginary circle as the approximate rotation center. The support body 1 comprises a first gear part 11 meshed with the large diameter gear part 20a, and a second gear part 12 meshed with the small diameter gear part 20b on the outside of the first gear part. The movement of the supported part 20 in a direction to deepen the mesh between the second gear part 12 and the small diameter gear part 20b is regulated by the torsion coil spring 3 with one end 30 fixed to the support body 1 and with the other end 31 fixed to the supported part 20.
