PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for setting a wireless LAN of a device are provided to automatically supply setting mode information of a WPS support device to which a wireless LAN terminal is accessible, thereby enabling a user to easily use a WPS support network. CONSTITUTION: A method for setting a wireless LAN of a device comprises the following steps. Information of a wireless LAN device supporting wireless security setting is searched by scanning accessible wireless LAN devices. User interface information related to the wireless LAN setting of the device is provided according to the search result of the wireless LAN device supporting the wireless security setting. Information of the wireless LAN device supporting the wireless security setting is first provided.
