PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid pressure type variable focus lens device which is easily made optimum in the characteristic necessary for a variable focus lens part and the characteristic necessary for a liquid pressure pump part. SOLUTION: The variable focus lens device comprises at least: a transparent and elastically deformable membrane 2 supported by a supporting body 1; and a flowable transparent filling liquid 3 enclosed in contact with the membrane, wherein the focus is made variable by varying the shape of the membrane by changing the pressure and the enclosed amount of the flowable transparent filling liquid 3 with a liquid pressure pump 4, wherein a liquid pressure and flow rate transmission device 7 for transmitting a working liquid 6 for the liquid pressure pump and the flowable transparent filling liquid 3 for the variable focus lens, is included.
