PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the positive return operation of a piston with less wear in a combustion power driven type driver for driving a fastening element into a work object. SOLUTION: The driver 10 has at least one combustion chamber 11 and a driving piston 15 having a piston head 115 and slidably guided in a piston guide 17. The driving piston 15 is drivable by expandable gas from the combustion chamber 11, and a return device is provided for returning the driving piston 15 into its initial position by differential pressure in both side spaces of the piston head 115. The return device for returning the driving piston 15 is provided with an electric suction pump 20 connected to the combustion chamber 11 to generate suction flow, and a control unit 30 is further provided for controlling the pump 20 based on data computed by a sensor means.
