PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a culture method and a culture device, which can maintain an optimal culture density to efficiently culture on the culture of cells, tissues, microorganisms or the like, and can realize the reduction in the damages of the cells, the improvement in the efficiency of works, and the reduce in the risk of contamination. SOLUTION: The culture method includes separating the receiving portion of a culture container 1 into one or more culture portions 11 for culturing and one or more culture medium-supplying portions 12 for receiving the culture medium to be supplied to the culture portion 11 with a dividing member 8, and transferring the dividing member 8 to the culture medium-supplying portion 12 side to supply the culture medium in the culture medium-supplying portion 12 to the culture portion 11 to culture the cells. A roller can be used as the dividing member 8. The supply of the culture medium to the culture portion 11 is performed through one or more passages for connecting the culture medium-supplying portion 12 to the culture portion 11. One or more the passages are formed of one or more slits formed in the roller or of one or more bypass tubes for connecting the culture medium-supplying portion to the culture portion, or formed in the culture container by partially adhering the upper and lower sides of the culture container to each other.
