<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-contact scanner preventing noise due in an abutting portion from being generated on image data formed by picking up an image pickup target medium with an image pickup unit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The non-contact scanner 1 is provided with: a mat portion 3 for placing the image pickup target medium 2; the image pickup unit 6 for picking up the image pickup target medium 2; and the abutting portion 4 for abutting the image pickup target medium 2. The abutting portion 4 is made of a transparent member. An upper surface 41 of the abutting portion 4 is formed on an inclined surface for reflecting light emitted from the light source 8 and reflected on the abutting portion 4 toward directions except the image pickup unit 6.
