<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device of a passenger conveyer moderately calling attention to passengers, and reducing a load to a mechanism by softly moving. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In order to call attention to the passengers by driving a side edge portion which is a side demarcation member of a step to an actuating position projecting from a main body and a non-actuating position which does not project out, the safety device of the passenger conveyer comprises a driven magnet provided at the side edge portion for driving the side edge portion elastically supported by a guiding device between the actuating position and the non-actuating position, and a driving magnet moving the driven magnet to the actuating position by magnetic force with the side edge portion.
