<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator having a window capable of eliminating any feeling of fear and feeling of anxiety without impairing the security function, and reducing occurrence of situations for causing troubles in the opening operation of a car side door. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the elevator having the window, a window 7 is formed in a car side door 5 and a landing side door. A one-way mirror 9 capable of performing the viewing only from the landing side is fitted to the window 7 in the car side door 5, and a glass capable of performing the viewing from the landing side and the car 1 side is fitted to the window in the landing side door.
