SYNTHESIS OF PHOTOINITIATOR FREE REACTIVE MESOGENS BASED ON TRIPHENYLENE

PURPOSE: Photoinitiator-free reactive mesogens based on triphenylene are provided to form a wide-viewing angle compensation film. CONSTITUTION: Photoinitiator-free reactive mesogens based on triphenylene are represented by formula 1. The triphenylene-based mesogen compounds comprise various long branched chains for adjusting a temperature range in liquid crystal. The branched chains are alkyl, poly ethylene glycol, phenyl alkyl ester, and phenyl polyethylene glycol esther. The triphenylene-based mesogen compounds have phenyl acryloyl(cinnamoyl), naphthyl acryloyl, and biphenyl acryloyl groups on the end of the branched chains.
