In a light reflector and a lighting fixture having the light reflector, a light reflector 1 comprises: a substrate 2; a light reflecting layer 4 formed of Ag or an Ag-based alloy on the substrate 2 via an undercoat layer 3; and a top coat layer 5 formed using a straight silicone-based coating agent on a surface of the light reflecting layer 4. The straight silicone-based coating agent barely generates radicals when receiving light and heat stress, and furthermore has a skeleton formed of Si-O bonds which have a high bonding energy to be hardly broken, so that it can provide a light reflector having superior heat resistance, light resistance and corrosion resistance.
