The device has a sensor (10) delivering a signal representative of a patient`s metabolic needs whose analysis of periodic variations is operated by a block (12). An acceleration sensor (14) is associated to a sampling circuit (16) and a status indicator (20) distinguishes between activity and rest phases. A static processing unit delivers processed information and updates using the processed information. Memories (22, 24) gather characteristic parameters of activity and rest phases, respectively. The device has an analysis unit (26) for evaluating indices (28, 30, 32) of clinical state.
