PURPOSE: An apparatus for inputting a character is provided to input various characters such as Hangul and English by being applied to a cellular phone and a remote controller. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for inputting a character comprises the first keypad(10) and the second keypad(20) which are a part of a computer keyboard. The first keypad of a left input part and the second keypad of a right input part are longitudinally arranged so that the thumb of a user pushes them to input characters. The first and second keypads are made of a slide plate.
