PURPOSE: A location based service providing system and a method thereof for providing the location based service by using location information are provided to supply additional information related to the mobile terminal without a GPS module to the mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A location based service providing system includes a mobile communication terminal, and a location based service providing server(20). A wireless web browser is mounted on the mobile communication terminal. The wireless web browser provides the wireless internet service. The location based service providing server includes a subscriber information database(23a), an information management database(25a). The control of subscriber information database manages the personal information of the subscriber subscribed in the location based service. The point of database manages the present position information of the mobile communication terminal registered from the mobile communication terminal.
