A method of combining multiple touch inputs on a touch-sensitive surface in which a first action is performed in response to a user performing a first movement across the surface, performing a second action in response to a second movement across the surface, and performing a third action in response to the first movement linked to the second movement across the surface where the third action is neither the first or second action. The first and second movements could be performed simultaneously or in sequence or within a time period. The first and second movements could be a forward path and the reverse path or they could be the same action, i.e. repeated. This method could be used in an electronic device with a touch-sensitive surface or touchpad.
