<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a high image quality being required as on demand printing in an image forming system comprising an FEP performing RIP processing. <P>SOLUTION: Image identification information LW/CT is transmitted from an FEP section 500 to a BEP section 600 by transparent code system or screen flag system. Format information for discriminating the format of image identification information is also transmitted by including it in extra data DSEL. The BEP section 600 specified the format of image identification information with reference to the format information in the extra data DSEL and then specifies the image identification information LW/CT according to that transmission system. Based on that image identification information LW/CT, image processing characteristics are switched for each object in one page. A high image quality can be achieved by the gray scale characteristics or the screen of the character/line image and the background part and a high image quality being required as on demand printing can be attained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
