A video system ( 10 ) integrated along with a rear view mirror ( 170 ) into a rear view mirror housing ( 20 ) of a vehicle. The system ( 10 ) includes at least one video camera ( 30 ) and a display monitor ( 40 ), with the monitor ( 40 ) being located substantially behind and viewable through the mirror ( 170 ). The system ( 10 ) is capable of recording, storing, and replaying video images, and may also allow for capturing audio signals and other desirable information, including, for example, location and speed information. |
