<p>The present invention is directed to the use of one or more pre-stressed curved members, to enhance the strength of any curved structure. It is envisaged that the use of pre-stressed curved members in a range of curved structures according to the present invention could be used to reinforce aircraft, vehicles, warships/submarines and the like. It is further envisaged that the present invention could also be applied to shaped sections of amour for the protection of buildings, vehicles or human personnel.</p> |
