The present invention relates to a mechanism for converting a rotary motion originating from a rotary energy generator (1) into a longitudinal motion of a carriage (6) in a guideway (2). According to the invention, said guideway comprises a first track (3) for guiding a rotary flexible drive shaft (5) and a second track (4) for guiding a carriage (6), said carriage (6) having means for guiding said carriage (6) relative to said guideway (2) and engagement means (7) for interconnection with said drive shaft (5) to obtain linked motion with said drive shaft (5), and that said guideway (2) is part of a formable or workable profile.
