Preparation of wood materials from lignocellulose, comprises pressing lignocellulose containing crushing products with adhesives under a heat treatment, where: at least an additive is added to the lignocellulose containing crushing products before pressing; and the additive comprises iron(II) salt and hydrogen peroxide for reducing the emission of optionally saturated aldehydes, preferably formaldehyde and other volatile organic compounds. Independent claims are included for: (1) the wood materials, obtained by the above process, where the wood materials are preferably oriented strand board (OSB)-plates and fiberboard, preferably light and superlight medium density fiberboard; and (2) a composition for treating wood materials to reduce the emission of the aldehydes and volatile organic compound comprising the additive. |
