A plasma display panel is provided with a front board (2) wherein a dielectric layer is formed to cover a display electrode formed on a front glass substrate and a protection layer is formed on the dielectric layer; a back board (10), which faces the front board (2) so as to form a discharge space, forms an address electrode in a direction intersecting with the display electrode and has a partitioning wall for partitioning the discharge space; and a sealing material (17) for sealing the outer circumferential portion between the front board (2) and the back board (10). The protection layer prevents a discharge gas from leaking, by forming a base film on the dielectric layer and adhering agglomerated particles wherein a plurality of crystal grains composed of a metal oxide are agglomerated, on the inner region of the sealing material (17) so that the agglomerated particles are distributed over the entire region. |
