PURPOSE: An apparatus for correcting the moving picture wavering and a method thereof are provided to correct the distortion of an image caused by the vibration of a hand effectively. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(100) for correcting the moving picture wavering comprises a selecting unit(130) which selects at least one reference macro block in an input image of the first frame, a calculation unit(140) which performs the statistical calculation by matching the reference macro block with each search block included in a search area of the second frame, and a vector calculating unit(150) which calculates a motion vector for correcting the output image of the second frame by using results of the statistical calculation.
