PURPOSE: A bio-ceramic composition and a method for preparing a ceramic ball are provided to promote the growth of plants by securing high air permeability and emitting far infrared rays. CONSTITUTION: A bio-ceramic composition is composed of effective amount of volcanic rock, tourmaline, germanium, and loess. A method for preparing a ceramic ball comprises the following steps of: pulverizing the bio-ceramic composition to size of 700 mesh or less; sintering the pulverized powder at the temperature of 230-270°C for sterilization; molding the sterilized powder with clay; and heating the moldings at the temperature of 1150-1250°C for ceramification.
