PURPOSE: A four-way adjustable headrest for a vehicle is provided to regulate the height conveniently by moving a headrest only, not moving a stay rod in which the headrest is installed. CONSTITUTION: A four-way adjustable headrest for a vehicle includes an up-and-down slider, a stay rod, a fixed gear part, a connection link, a movable gear part, a spring, a moving part, a rotating part, and a return spring. The up-and-down slider(7) comprises a horizontal part(7a) connected with a horizontal moving structure(72), and a vertical part(7b,7b') with notches(71). The stay rod(8) comprises a pair of vertical bars located at an interval and a pair of horizontal bars(812) connecting the vertical bars. The fixed gear part is fixed on the horizontal bar of the stay rod. The connection link is hinged on the fixed gear part on one end. The movable gear part is axially combined with the connection link and engaged with the fixed gear part. The spring rotates the movable gear part by the designated angle so that the gear teeth of the fixed gear part and the movable gear part are selectively engaged. The moving part has a moving bar which is hinged with the other end of the connection link and arranged in parallel with the horizontal bar. The rotating part is hinged on the fixed gear part on one end, and surrounds the moving bar on the other. The return spring is supported between the connection link and the fixed gear part and forces the moving part to return to the original state. |
