<p>PURPOSE: An active carbon for an electric double layer capacitor electrode and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to use an active carbon whose average particle size is mall and whose non surface size is relatively large in an electrode, thereby improving electrostatic capacity per a unit volume. CONSTITUTION: A carbon material which can be graphitized is plastic-processed. The carbon material is revived by alkali metal hydroxide. The revived carbon material is wetly crashed by using two kinds of balls having different diameters. A plastic processing temperature is between 500 and 700°C. A diameter of a larger ball between two kinds of balls having different diameters is from 1 to 30 mm and a diameter of a smaller ball is from 1/10 to 1/2 of a diameter of a large ball.</p> |
