摘要 PURPOSE: A robot system and an operating method thereof are provided to dock a mobile robot to a charging stand quickly and accurately by compensating the angle of the traveling robot based on signal communication between the robot and the charging stand. CONSTITUTION: A robot system comprises a distance signal transmitter(130) which transmits a distance signal for ranging, a guide signal receiver(140) which receives a guide signal transmitted from a charging stand for indication a range, a transmission controller(120) which controls the distance signal transmitter to transmit the distance signal when the guide signal is received in the guide signal receiver, and a robot controller which calculates the distance and direction to the charging stand by measuring the time to the reception of the guide signal in the guide signal receiver after the transmission of the distance signal from the distance signal transmitter and varies the travel direction of a mobile robot.
