The container (1) has a base (10) with fixed posts (12) mounted at corners of the base. A movable plate (20) forms a support surface extending parallel to the base, and is connected to the base by a foldable support. The support maintains the plate in a plane parallel to the base during displacement of the plate along a vertical direction between an upper usage position and a lower folded position. The plate is situated remote from the base in direction of free ends of the post when the plate is in the usage position, and rests on the base when the plate is in the folded position.
