摘要 <p>The method involves measuring vibrational spectra in a predetermined range of a dynamic cut parameter e.g. cutting speed, of a digital control machine tool (1) at regular intervals, and identifying significant frequency bands on the vibrational spectra. Power values of the frequency bands are determined with respect to the dynamic cut parameter. An operating point of the machine tool is determined from vibrations and the power values with respect to the dynamic cut parameter, where the power values correspond to maximum amplitudes of the bands or surface values of the bands. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for controlling a machine tool (2) a control module of a machine tool comprising a device for determining an operating point of a machine tool for a given tool-material configuration (3) a programmable unit comprising instructions to perform a method for determining an operating point of a machine tool for a given tool-material configuration (4) a computer program comprising instructions to perform a method for determining an operating point of a machine tool for a given tool-material configuration.</p>
