The console has a rectangular flat support (1) arranged against a backrest of a rear seat of a motor vehicle i.e. car. An electronic CPU (5) is placed on the support. A rectangular display screen (2) is folded against the support. A casing (3) is articulated on the support. The casing is folded on the support, independent of the screen for closing the console by covering the electronic CPU. The electronic CPU is fitted in a base (4) along a direction parallel to a mid-plane of the support. The support has an unlocking button (13) that permits the deployment of the screen.
