[PROBLEMS]A door closer capable of reducing a fluctuation of a door closing time relative to variation in environmental temperatures and capable of preventing damage on a piston and a casing when the door is closed.[MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS]The door closer (10) is mounted along the rotation axis of the door (D) and has an urging section (12) for urging the door (D) toward a closing position and a speed regulation section (14) for regulating the return speed of the door (D). The speed regulation section (14) has the circular tube-shaped casing (11), the piston (34) in operative association in the casing (11) with opening and closing of the door (D), and an oil containing section (26) for containing oil (cushioning agent)(P). The piston (34) is vertically movably engaged via a screw thread with a cylinder (24) and is adapted to move vertically while being braked by the oil contained in the oil containing section (26). The oil is of a type having viscosity varying a little with temperature. A compression spring (elastic member)(38) for pressing the piston (34) to the one side in the direction of its movement is provided in the oil containing section (26). |
