<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butt cap for a spinning rod, lightened, while maintaining durability and decorativeness. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Provided is the butt cap 30 including a cylindrical butt cap body 32 disposed on the outer peripheral surface of the rear end of a butt section 12, and a butt member 34 having a fall-preventing portion 54 for disposing the butt member 34 on the butt cap body in a fat-preventing state and disposed at the rear end of the butt cap body, characterized in that, in the butt cap body 32, a cylindrical base portion 42 disposed on the outer periphery of the rear end of the butt section, the first flange portion 44 disposed within the range of the length of the base portion and extended on the outer side of the base portion, and the second flange portion 46 disposed on the rear end side from the first flange portion and used for fitting the fall-preventing portion 54 of the butt member between the first flange portion and the second flange portion are formed from a resin; and a surface-protecting member 36 formed from a harder material than that of the butt cap body and covering at least a part of the base portion is disposed on the outside of the base portion on the tip side from the first flange portion.
