<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degradation of image quality in an image display device forming a black matrix using a divided exposure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image display apparatus includes a plurality of light-emitting areas formed on a substrate, and a black matrix equipped with a plurality of openings fitted on the substrate for zoning a plurality of light-emitting areas. The black matrix has a nonlinear virtual boundary line 13a extended to its inside face, and an alignment pattern of the openings is changed with the virtual boundary line 13a as a boundary.
