<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a cooling device causes clogging by sucking jellyfish together with sea water since a reflective wave is weak and the jellyfish is not detected even if an ultrasonic wave is irradiated from one ultrasonic oscillator because the reflective wave of the ultrasonic wave is weak in the conventional jellyfish detecting device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A plurality of the ultrasonic oscillators 2 of an ultrasonic probe 1 are formed circularly, connected to a switching circuit 3, and an oscillating circuit 4 is connected to an input terminal of the switching circuit 3. In addition, a receiving circuit 5 is connected to an output terminal of the switching circuit 3, a delay circuit 6 is connected to the receiving circuit 5, a comparison circuit 7 is connected to the delay circuit 5, and a threshold signal output circuit 8 is connected to the comparison circuit 7. Furthermore, a storing circuit 9 is connected to an output terminal of the comparison circuit 7, an image composite circuit 10 is connected to an output terminal of the storing circuit 9, and a display 11 is connected to the image composite circuit 10.
