<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the application of high tension to an endless turning body even if the elongation of the endless turning body is largely increased. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The sludge scraper keeps an endless turning body 2 with scraping members attached thereto turnably wound around across a driving rotor rotating on a horizontal axis X and a driven rotor 4 rotating on another horizontal axis X, and a pressing member 17 installed that applies tension to the endless turning body 2 by way of pressing the non-wound part 16 of the endless turning body 2 from the outer circumference side toward the inner circumference side of its turning route. A swing member 19 equipped with the pressing member is supported in a manner swingable by its own weight on a swing axis Z disposed roughly parallel to the horizontal axes X, with the gravity center P1 of the swing member held on a position higher than the swing axis Z and closer to the pressing member than to the vertical face passing through the swing shaft Z.
