PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phthalocyanine compound having the maximal absorption wave length in a wavelength region of near infrared ray of 800-1,000 nm, and capable of specifically transmitting red light of 600-610 nm. SOLUTION: A phthalocyanine compound introduced with -NHCH(R<SP>1</SP>)(R<SP>2</SP>) or -OR<SP>3</SP>atαposition of a phthalocyanine skeleton, and introduced with -OR<SP>3</SP>or -SR<SP>4</SP>atβposition of the phthalocyanine skeleton, or a phthalocyanine compound or its regioisomer which phthalocyanine compound is cyclized with fourαpositions and fourβpositions adjoining to theαpositions as -X-Ar-X-, introduced with -NHCH(R<SP>1</SP>)(R<SP>2</SP>) or -OR<SP>3</SP>at remaining fourαpositions of the phthalocyanine skeleton, and, further, introduced with -OR<SP>3</SP>or -SR<SP>4</SP>at remaining fourβpositions of the phthalocyanine skeleton, wherein, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each independently a (substituted) phenyl group, a (substituted) naphthyl group or a (substituted) anthryl group.
